The weekend

It is 7:00 on Sunday night and all of the kids are in bed! Can you tell how tired everyone is at our house! Ben officially has his first preschool cold. The yucky nose and cough! If it hasn't gone away by Tuesday I will have to keep him home. The Japanese are very strict when it comes to sickness!
We have managed to keep ourselves busy this weekend. Yesterday we hit up the Oriental Bazaar on base. I was very excited although the selection wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be. I enjoyed my shopping experience for the first five minutes and then our adoring fans started to crowd us once again. Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate that everyone is so interested in the babies but come on - give me a break (literally!!!) I cannot move more than five feet without someone wanting me to stop and talk to them. People even say, I know your time is precious but I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you how beautiful your babies are and how lucky you are - then 25 minutes later they finally leave me alone... by this time both babies are crying and Ben is going bonkers. Yesterday my patience ran out and I about started crying. My wonderful neighbors teenage daughter had taken Ben to the playground to give me some time to walk around and one well meaning person stole that time from me. Oh well, there will be other bazaars and I didn't need anything there that bad anyways.

I was able to make two purchases though. One of my new obsessions are Kokeshi dolls. These are wooden Japanese dolls with a very deep history in Japan. I bought two antique dolls at the bazaar and forgot to take a picture of them. Kokeshi dolls are super cute and super addictive, similar to the McDonald's Happy Meal toys (I need to take a picture of my growing collection of those too!!) My other purchase was the kids' names written in Japanese. Very cool - now I just need to figure out whose is whose!! Opps!!

No Steven did not create these!! I want to hang them in each child's room.

The babies are ready for the bazaar - thank you Nana! Ben has bones pajamas and I told him he could wear his shirt but he chose his cardinals shirt instead - good choice given the playoffs! Everyone thought these were so cute. They are ready for Halloween! (Nate on left, Piper on right.) I cannot believe how much the twins are growing and changing. They are getting more and more alert and interactive. Piper loves to smile and Nate loves to charm. Soon Piper is going to have a full head of hair for me to put bows in! Nate's eyes are still a beautiful shade of blue!

Grant is doing well. I think he would much rather be enjoying Japan with us than living on the ship but you have to do what you have to do! We miss him tons!!!
